Wonder Studios is renovating the historic buildings at Wonderland Culture Center, so the community can meet safely, functionally and sustainably — all year round.
The project covers the old dairy, Hal 1-3, the Service House and the Activity Villa: new roofs, facade restoration, better heating and insulation, and a clean-up of the outdoor areas between the buildings.
Much of what gets rebuilt gets a second life afterwards — materials from the site later turn up in Wonderland’s own post-apocalyptic LARP, Sunfall.

Work weekends
We hold ongoing work weekends where volunteers tackle tasks together that don’t require certification — from painting and clean-up to installation and small building jobs. It’s as much a community as it is a work crew.
Mini-works
From experience on our last Underværker project, we’ve learned that volunteer work needs to be fun and manageable. So members pitch their own “mini-works” on Contribute.dk — small tasks like weeding, painting or putting up lamps.
Professional help
The bigger, more demanding jobs — roofs, heating, electrics — are handled by certified tradespeople. A project lead coordinates between the contractors and the volunteers so it all fits together.

Mejeriet
The facade
Restoration and painting of the white facade with Facade Multi white.

Repair and stabilisation of Mejeriet’s inner section, so the set dressing is preserved and easier to maintain going forward. Broken windowpanes are replaced with glass that fits the building’s architecture.

New pipework from the sump pump in the basement to the drain, so the groundwater that collects there no longer damages the building.

Lighting
Replacement and repair of the lighting, so every light works and runs on sustainable LED bulbs.

Roof and doors
A new, non-reflective steel roof secures the building envelope. The old main door is replaced so the hall can be closed off completely.

A powerful heat pump improves the indoor climate, and new doors between the two halls improve insulation.

Green areas and trees
